Obama, answer this question

Obama answer one simple question:

What passport did he use when he was shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi ?

So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981, without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later?

And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi , what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs and Immigration?

The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, they must have answers.

It makes the debate over Obama’s citizenship a rather short and simple one.

Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20?

A : Yes, by his own admission.

Q: What passport did he travel under?

A: There are only three possibilities.
1) He traveled with a U.S. Passport,
2) He traveled with a British passport, or
3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport.

Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981?

A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department’s “no travel” list in 1981.

Conclusion:
When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.

If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims. And if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian stepfather in 1967.

Whatever the truth of the matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a “natural born” American citizen between 1981 and 2008..

Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.

Lonely Man Steals Lawn Statues to Talk To
A Japanese man is accused of stealing lawn ornaments to keep him company since both his father and brother died, according to Weird Asia News.

Osamu Kimura, 52, was caught holding a ceramic frog in the front yard of a homeowner, who called police, Weird Asia News reported. When police caught Kimura, he was stealing a 2-foot tall ceramic raccoon, and they found at least 30 ceramic frogs, dogs and raccoons inside his apartment, the story said.

Kimura, who is unemployed, told police he was stealing the lawn ornaments for the past year so he'd have someone to talk to.

Former Family Speaks On Daughter's Alleged Crime

I really don't know what to say about this, so I'm just going to copy the article from the WMDT website

A mother of five is facing several charges after police say she abandoned her newborn in a portable toilet. The suspect's former inlaws, say her actions are a result of a woman struggling with mental illness for many years.

Candy married into the Vigneri family 25 years ago. Her former father in-law Pete says she was beautiful and full of life, but after giving birth to her second child she began to struggle with depression and schizophrenia. Pete says as the years progressed she became worse. "Our biggest fear was that the family one day would get a call and say we found Candy dead." said Pete Vigneri.

That wasn't the news the Vigneri family received on Monday morning. Instead they found out that Candy Vigneri, was arrested for child abuse and reckless endangerment when she gave birth to a baby girl in a portable toilet. "She had blood over her from what people tell us. She just walked over had blood all over her and she said give me a cigarette. Then someone was going over to use the porta-potty and she said no you can't use that, there's a baby in there and they went and looked and there it was and she just walked away," said Pete Vigneri.

Those who knew Candy say they weren't surprised to hear she left her newborn in the portable toilet, and now they say they're hoping she'll get the help she needs. "It's sad. She's a danger to herself and she may be a danger to other people, I mean she's already endangered a child. Had nobody been there, had this been at midnight and she went to the bathroom there that child would be dead," said Pete Vigneri, fighting back tears.

Both Candy and the infant were transported to Easton Memorial Hospital for treatment. The baby is stable and has been released to social services.

Woman Stashes Squirrel in Cleavage

Police interviewing an Ohio woman about a murder case get quite the surprise when a squirrel suddenly pops out of her tank top. The woman pushes the animal back into her top and continues with the interview.

Embedded video from CNN Video

At one point in the interview, the woman, wearing a skimpy tank top, leaned over and out of her bosom crept a baby squirrel that was nestled in the woman's cleavage. The woman, seemingly unphased, gently put the small creature back inside her shirt and continued talking to the detective.

The shocked detective said that he was at a loss for words. "The squirrel seemed quite happy," Mackey said.

It is not clear if the squirrel is the woman's pet or even why she decided to bring with her for the interview.

The two are not expected to be called to testify during the trial.

FFSearcher Stealthily Hijacks Your Searches

Click fraud, the redirecting of search requests to malicious sites, is one of the more easily recognized pests in the malware world.

The problem for the fraudsters is that most users quickly realize something is amiss when they search for something on Google and it is instead displayed on some other (and likely unfamiliar) site. But the hackers behind the new Nine Ball attack have figured out how to disguise their click fraud scheme by using Google's AdSense for Search program.

The Google product allows users to put a Google search box on their page, and the company profits by collecting commission on ads displayed alongside the results.

FFSearcher, as the new scheme is called, has found a hole in the system that allows it to hijack all searches on Google and redirect them through a custom AdSense search.

That means that search results are displayed with little evidence that the data is being intercepted by a third party. The fraud is even harder to recognize since FFSearcher doesn't point you towards other malicious sites, it simply collects revenue if a searcher clicks on ads displayed on the results page.

SecureWorks has alerted Google to the fraud, and Google has begun shutting down AdSense accounts associated with it. Unfortunately, FFSearcher has the ability to switch accounts, meaning Google may simply be engaging in a wild goose chase.

Thankfully, there are ways to detect an infection. AdSense searches don't appear exactly the same as a standard Google search.

If your search results page doesn't display a total number of results, you may have been a victim of FFSearcher. If you think you have been compromised by FFSearcher, run anti-malware programs (yes, plural) such as Spybot, AVG, or -- for the more advanced among you -- HijackThis. Has Anyone Heard About the Captured Soldier?

We have a U.S. Soldier that has been captured and the MSM is busy reporting on Michael Jackson, a cheating governor, and Palin resigning, etc. in the midst of all we have going on in the country this is what the MSM sees as 'important' news.

I don't see it as news at all and frankly everyone in this nation should be completely pissed-off that we have absolutely no news reported from the MSM on a captured U.S. soldier that is/was fighting for our freedoms that we are losing daily along with Korea firing missiles while the MSM reports on Michael Jackson.

It seams as if they are not reporting real news as it does not fit their agenda, their puppet hussein obama is failing fast so the M.J. death came right on time so they don't have to report on the white house blunder.

Joe Biden is visiting his son in Iraq and the MSM does do a snip here and there on that, now what if it was Bidens son that was captured? Hmmmmm..

21st century name urged for industrial park

I'm surprised they don't want to call it obama park

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. -- The Pocomoke City Industrial Park may get a new name.

"Use something more 21st century and more flexible," said U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., at a meeting with the Worcester County Commissioners on Tuesday.

Instead, the senator suggested, why not call the area an "enterprise park" or something else that denotes the technological and modern conveniences that are being integrated into the facility.

With a new broadband Internet line -- part of the Maryland Broadband Cooperative project -- and infrastructure money for green buildings, the park is an example of the amenities Worcester County officials and Mikulski agreed need expanding as companies serving the growing activities at NASA's Wallops Island Flight Facility seek their own locations nearby.

Wallops' Mid-Atlantic Regional spaceport will be the launch site for Orbital Science Corporation's Taurus II rocket program -- a 130-foot rocket that will take supplies, food, medicine and spare parts to the international space station -- and Mikulski said the project can spur local economic growth. Mikulski on Monday attended a groundbreaking ceremony for a new launchpad to support the Orbital project.

"It's all part of looking at how we can have jobs here on the Eastern Shore," Mikulski said, stressing the importance of digital and more traditional local commerce. Construction of the launch facility is expected to create nearly 300 new jobs in the near future and bring another 400 high-tech jobs to the area by 2010.

To lure those companies north of the Virginia border, Worcester County Commissioners President Louise Gulyas said local officials are "chomping at the bit to help them have what they need."

But Accomack County and state officials also are eager to bring to Virginia the jobs and dollars that will come along with the Orbital project and other commercial ventures expected to use the spaceport in the future. They hope to lure business to the newly created Wallops Research Park, located on over 200 acres just outside NASA's main gate.

Accomack County Board of Supervisors Chairman Steve Mallette along with NASA and Marine Science Consortium officials two months ago -- after a decade-long effort -- signed the document legally forming the park, which is a cooperative effort of the three entities.

The Marine Science Consortium, which has been at Wallops since 1971, recently held a groundbreaking on a $15 million campus renovation and plans to expand its scope to reflect its new association with NASA and the park.

BaySys Technologies, a company which specializes in installing luxury interiors in airplanes, and Navy contractor Northrup Grumman are the first two park tenants. The research park master plan also includes a workforce training and business incubator facility on the site.

Officials expect to hear this fall whether a federal appropriation to pay for construction of a $4 million taxiway linking the research park with a NASA runway will be approved.

Additionally, an open access fiber network is being constructed through the Eastern Shore Broadband Initiative that will make broadband service available to park tenants.

In additional efforts north of the state line, along with improvements to the Pocomoke City Industrial Park and the laying of broadband cables throughout the county, Worcester County has plans for a rail link from the Eastern Shore of Virginia to Frankford, Del. The railroad would follow an existing track, which serves the Tyson Foods Inc. chicken feed facility in Snow Hill and parts of the southern end of the county.

Jerry Redden, the director of economic development for the county, explained the project to Mikulski, asking for help in acquiring federal transportation stimulus money for improvements to the aged infrastructure and to connect Pocomoke City and Wallops Island into the rail system.

"What we are talking about here is a track that goes from Pocomoke City to Wallops Island for these rockets," Redden said.

While Mikulski seemed to approve of the idea --- mentioning that it was good for high-tech jobs and traditional agriculture -- she said the county would have to "flesh it out" with Wallops and the other stakeholders before she would back the plan.

"This is a big deal," she said. "It's not only who can do it, it's who will own the rail, it's who will maintain the rail."

The senator's infrastructure priorities are the availability of broadband Internet for businesses, schools and residents; improvements to wastewater facilities; and the expansion of Route 113. Mikulski told commissioners to actively appeal to the governor and state agencies for stimulus money for wastewater projects. She also said an additional $2 million was being allocated for phase three of the highway dualization project and that reliable high-speed Internet may help to spur the local economy and reduce the "staggering" 15 percent unemployment rate.

"I've thought very much about broadband for the Eastern Shore and western Maryland, and it really is going to be our information superhighway," she said.

The Story of Independence Day

Is history repeating itself? Does this sound familiar?

America's Birthday

Independence Day is the national holiday of the United States of America commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

At the time of the signing the US consisted of 13 colonies under the rule of England's King George III. There was growing unrest in the colonies concerning the taxes that had to be paid to England. This was commonly referred to as "Taxation without Representation" as the colonists did not have any representation in the English Parliament and had no say in what went on. As the unrest grew in the colonies, King George sent extra troops to help control any rebellion. In 1774 the 13 colonies sent delegates to Philadelphia Pennsylvania to form the First Continental Congress. The delegates were unhappy with England, but were not yet ready to declare war.

In April 1775 as the King's troops advanced on Concord Massachusetts Paul Revere would sound the alarm that "The British are coming, the British are coming" as he rode his horse through the late night streets.

The battle of Concord and its "shot heard round the world" would mark the unofficial beginning of the colonies war for Independence.

The following May the colonies again sent delegates to the Second Continental Congress. For almost a year the congress tried to work out its differences with England, again without formally declaring war.

By June 1776 their efforts had become hopeless and a committee was formed to compose a formal declaration of independence. Headed by Thomas Jefferson, the committee included John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston and Roger Sherman. Thomas Jefferson was chosen to write the first draft which was presented to the congress on June 28. After various changes a vote was taken late in the afternoon of July 4th. Of the 13 colonies, 9 voted in favor of the Declaration, 2 - Pennsylvania and South Carolina voted No, Delaware undecided and New York abstained.

To make it official John Hancock, President of the Continental Congress, signed the Declaration of Independence. It is said that John Hancock signed his name "with a great flourish" so "King George can read that without spectacles!."

The following day copies of the Declaration were distributed. The first newspaper to print the Declaration was the Pennsylvania Evening Post on July 6, 1776. On July 8th the Declaration had its first public reading in Philadelphia's Independence Square. Twice that day the Declaration was read to cheering crowds and pealing church bells. Even the bell in Independence Hall was rung. The "Province Bell" would later be renamed "Liberty Bell" after its inscription -

Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants Thereof

And although the signing of the Declaration was not completed until August, the 4th of July has been accepted as the official anniversary of United States independence. The first Independence Day celebration took place the following year - July 4 1777. By the early 1800s the traditions of parades, picnics, and fireworks were established as the way to celebrate America's birthday. And although fireworks have been banned in most places because of their danger, most towns and cities usually have big firework displays for all to see and enjoy.

Pocomoke; Landlord Faces Fines for House with Unsafe Levels of Lead

Will this be another vacant lot belonging to the city of Pocomoke, It doesn't look like it will be long before forth street looking north west, will be water front/view property at the rate houses are burning in that area.

A local man faces fines due to unsafe levels of lead inside a home he was renting, according to the Maryland Department of the Environment.

MDE says it was spurred by a third-party complaint that two units at 204 Walnut Street in Pocomoke City contained high levels of lead throughout the house. The organization says it inspected the residence and then issued a fine of $15,000 to Berlin resident John Jay Cox.

Maryland state property records show the house was built in 1920 and is owned by Cox. Cox could not be reached for comment by phone or at his home.

MDE says Cox was renting rooms and didn't take steps to remove the sources of lead, which MDE says is against the law.

"The property owner had not complied with the state law which requires registration of properties, pre-1950 rental properties, and doing risk reduction treatments before tenants can occupy those properties," said Alvin Bowles, a program manager with MDE.

The fine was issued in April and since then, MDE says Cox has appealed it. Neighbors say besides concerns of lead paint in the house, there was also a fire that destroyed part of the home in May.

Walter Eskiewicz, who lives in an adjacent home, said he had to rescue the occupants from the home when it caught on fire.

"The place was filling up with smoke and oddly enough I didn't even hear a smoke detector," he said. "But eventually we got everyone out before the fire department got here."

The house is now condemned with part of the building charred from the fire. There are also broken windows and litter scattered throughout the yard. Doctors say lead poisoning from things like lead dust particles or paint chips can be serious.

"The big bad problem is brain problems: Mental retardation, problems with thinking and processing," said Dr. Geraldine Goertzen.

Dr. Goertzen said anemia can also be a concern with lead poisoning.

Cambridge Woman Gives Birth in Portable Toilet

Authorities say a 44-year-old Cambridge woman is facing child abuse and related charges after giving birth to a baby girl in a portable toilet and then abandoning her.
On Monday at around 9:39 a.m., Cambridge police officers and Cambridge EMS responded to Long Wharf Park for a 911 call regarding a childbirth incident.

According to police, officers learned that 44-year-old Candy Michelle Vigneri gave birth to a baby girl in a portable toilet located on the east side of Long Wharf Park.

Police say that after giving birth, Vigneri left the infant in the portable toilet. A short time later a witness arrived in the area and was able to dial for emergency assistance. Both Vigneri and the infant were transported by ambulance to Easton Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The infant is listed in stable condition and will be released to the custody of Social Services, according to police.

On Wednesday, Vigneri was released from medical treatment and subsequently arrested and charged with first- and second-degree child abuse and reckless endangerment. Bond information was not immediately available.

Firestone nearly doubles previous tire recall

Bridgestone is recalling 127,000 Firestone tires sold in 2007 and 2008 -- nearly doubling an earlier recall of tires from the same line, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced.

All the tires involved are FR380 P235/75R15.Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC, formerly known as Bridgestone Firestone North America, said the tread base of the tires was not made correctly and could cause tread separation and loss of control of a vehicle after extended use.

No incidents have been reported, the company told NHTSA.In the fall, the company recalled more than 162,000 tires made in 2006 and 2007 for the same reason. All the tires being recalled were made at the company's plant in Costa Rica. Bridgestone told NHTSA the problem was remedied at the plant in July 2008.

For anyone with the affected tires, Firestone is supposed to notify owners that they will be replaced for free -- including mounting and balancing.

The replacement tires can be obtained at authorized Firestone dealers or company owned stores, including Firestone Complete Auto Care and TiresPlus.

Tire owners can also call Bridgestone at 800-465-1904 or visit the company web site.Firestone also told the government it will reimburse customers who incurred costs related to the recalled tires.

Hallwood man Stalking Charge - Not Guilty

John W. Smith Jr., an Independent candidate in the three-way race for delegate of Virginia’s 100th District, was found not guilty Monday of a misdemeanor charge of stalking.

The 60-year-old Hallwood man was tried in Accomack General District Court after his neighbor, Bonnie Merritt, claimed Smith “has been stalking and taking pictures of me and my family for over a year.”

Smith said he was acquitted because it is not illegal to take pictures in Virginia. He said it didn’t constitute stalking and added, “It might be annoying and all that. If they didn’t do things wrong, I wouldn’t have to take their picture.”

Smith contended that he is harassed by the Merritts because they dispute the shared boundary lines.

Dog Eats Passport, Boy Misses Trip

A Wisconsin teenager using a classic excuse for evading schoolwork missed a class trip to Peru despite his tale being true: The dog ate his passport.

Officials at Chicago's O'Hare airport told 17-year-old Jon Meier the chewed-on document was fine, but authorities in Miami rejected it and wouldn't let him board the southbound aircraft.

His family's 1-year-old golden retriever, Sunshine, chewed a corner of the document, obscuring some numbers. Meier couldn't get another passport in time to join the trip with his Spanish class from Eau Claire North High School. The 12-day trip ended Monday.

Meier says he can't blame anyone, not even Sunshine: "I love her too much."

The battered and bruised face of a burglar who got on the wrong side of a 72-year-old former boxer

A knife-wielding burglar had a shock when he attacked a pensioner in his home - and discovered his victim was a retired boxer.

Senior citizen Frank Corti, 72, a former junior boxing champion is still a bit handy with his dukes.

And when he spotted the aforementioned intruder, Gregory McCalium, in his hallway he sprang into action and delivered two right hooks.

The blows were so powerful that McCalium, who had just lunged at Mr Corti with the knife, was left looking like he had been in 'a car accident'.

The pensioner then restrained him until police arrived. He was jailed for four and a half years yesterday after a judge told him he had 'got what he deserved'.

After sentencing, Mr Corti said: 'I was scared when he first drew the knife but most people would have acted in the same way. If you can't defend what's yours, where are we at?'

Oxford Crown Court heard the break-in was the culmination of a long-running dispute over noise between the neighbours, who live in Botley, Oxford.

McCalium, a barman, was having a rowdy party at his house on August 18 last year when police turned up after a complaint from a neighbour.

McCalium assumed it had been made by Mr Corti - who won the National Association of Boys' Clubs Championship in Birmingham when he was 16 - and broke into his neighbour's home at 8am the following day.

Mr Corti, who was with his wife Margaret at the time, dodged out of the way of his attacker's lunge and punched him, giving him a black eye and a split lip, before subduing him.

McCalium was found guilty of aggravated burglary at a trial in March, during which he had claimed he could not remember the incident.

John Simmons, defending, said Mr Corti, who served with the Royal Engineers in North Africa from 1956-58, had received minor injuries during the confrontation.

He added: ' Photographs of the defendant showed what looked like a car accident and photos of the scene looked more like a murder scene.'

Recorder Angela Morris said: 'Luckily, Mr Corti was an able-bodied 72-year-old who was able to defend himself.

'The jury might well have concluded you got what you deserved when you entered that property and took a swipe at him with that weapon.

'The elderly and vulnerable people are entitled to demand the protection of courts from people like you who decide to take matters into your own hands and enter a property with a weapon.'

Mr Corti, a retired car worker, added: 'If needed to, I would do it again.'

During sentencing at Oxford Crown Court, Brian Payne, prosecuting, said: 'There was a struggle and it was clear Mr McCalium was intoxicated because his reactions were slow.

'It seems Mr McCalium ended up with far more serious injuries.'

After the sentencing, Detective Constable Jon Shaw said: 'Fortunately no-one was more injured in this incident but this was still a terrifying situation and McCalium must now pay for his actions.

'I hope that the victim, and his wife, might now be able to put this ordeal behind them and get on with their lives.'

During the trial, Mr Corti described how he had been woken during the night by noise from next door for several months before the incident.

He told the court: 'They would slam the doors, then they would start partying. You could hear shouting, screaming and music.'

Mr Corti said he called police when he found McCalium banging on the front door of his house at about 6.30am.

Two hours later, he said, he came downstairs and saw bar worker McCalium in his hallway.

Mr Corti said: 'The accused produced a knife. It was no ordinary knife, it was more like a six-bladed knuckle duster.

'He made a slashing movement at me. I stepped back. He missed me, fortunately.'

Mr Corti said that while McCalium was off balance, he grabbed both of his wrists and managed to pin his arms against the wall.

He added he asked McCalium to drop the knife but he wouldn’t.

Mr Corti said: 'I shouted to my wife to ring the police.

'I was absolutely petrified.

'As I saw it, it was a matter of do or die so I let his wrists go. Fortunately the element of surprise was with me, so I adjusted my position and hit him with my right hand. It was just below the eye.

'I did not knock him out, but he was stunned. I heard the knife drop. We grappled. I was trying to drag him out of the back door. We both fell to the floor. I had to subdue him by punching him, which I did not take a great deal of pleasure in.”

The jury heard he then lay on top of McCalium until the police arrived.

SUPREME COURT OVERTURNS SOTOMAYOR; SIDES WITH WHITE FIREFIGHTERS !!

The Supreme Court today ruled in favor of white firefighters in New Haven, Conn., who said they were denied promotions because of their race, reversing a decision by Judge Sonia Sotomayor and others that had come to play a large role in the consideration of her nomination for the high court.

The city had thrown out the results of a promotion test because no African Americans and only two Hispanics would have qualified for promotions. It said it feared a lawsuit from minorities under federal laws that said such “disparate impacts” on test results could be used to show discrimination.

In effect, the court was deciding when avoiding potential discrimination against one group amounted to actual discrimination against another.

Obama Invites Iranian Butchers to July 4th Ceremonies

It is an American tradition that throughout the world, its embassies invite diplomats from other nations to share in their Independence Day celebrations on July 4th. Since an Iranian Islamic Revolution of 1979 that held dozens of Americans captive for more than a year, they have been denied this privilege.

Several weeks ago and after three decades of Iranian hostility, President Barack Hussein Obama extended a July 4th invitation to their diplomats. That was two weeks before current events in Iran witnessed protesting students being beaten and shot, with at least 17 confirmed deaths.Yesterday and after a week of tepid excuses from Obama, he refused to rescind this invitation to Iranian government representatives, effectively legitimizing the brutal suppression of their own people.

House Passes "Climate Change" Bill Virtually UNREAD. Gives Government the Right to Control Every Aspect of American's Lives

President Barack Hussein Obama's dream of authoritarian government made a lunge to reality, as House Democrats narrowly passed historic, repressive climate and energy legislation Friday evening. The goal is giving a domineering, privileged, federal bureaucracy, fascist control over the American economy, and regulation of how it's citizens live their lives.

Spearheaded by Barack Obama and strongly supported by House Speaker Democrat Nancy Pelosi and its two sponsors, Democrat Henry Waxman and Democrat Edward Markey, the bill now goes to the Senate.

Passage was close at 219-212 with only nine Republicans voting in favor and forty-four Democrats breaking ranks to vote against.

"We passed transformational legislation which takes us into the future," Pelosi said at a press conference following the vote, after she and other leaders took congratulatory phone calls from a jubilant Barack Hussein Obama and former Vice President Al Gore.

To Obama, it means that for the first time in American history, the Presidential bureaucracy and congress has the right to tax and control every aspect of your life, from what you wear, to what you eat. All but the wealthiest of Americans will be manipulated by an "approved" energy allotment for keeping cool or warm. It has the capacity to control the minutia of life.

To chief environmentalist huckster Al Gore (who has already made $100,000,000 on bogus science), it means his company will make untold millions through trading in carbon credits. To the American taxpayer, it means a lower standard of living through hundreds of billions in "hidden" taxes as the cost of living for Americans soars. It means loss of jobs, as corporate America outsources production to countries that needn't comply with American carbon regulations.

The bill now goes to the Senate where if approved, Obama's plans for transforming the American Republic into a tightly controlled police state dominated by Black Liberation Theology becomes a reality and the American era comes to an end.

What's your plans for Independence Day? (yeah I still call it that)

Tell us where the fireworks and events are happening this weekend of the 4th.

If you plan on traveling away from home, don't forget the DUI check-points will be everywhere, and the MSP usually use a bucket truck to catch speeders in Westover at or near Allstate salvage.

This coming weekend is also the Pocomoke Fireman's chicken BBQ, the best BBQ chicken I've ever tasted.

Someone told me that the Pocomoke Fireman's chicken BBQ wouldn't be held at Nocks tire this year can anyone confirm this? If it's true where will it be held?

Community Alert Siren to Sound Saturday, July 4 in Worcester

Worcester County residents on Saturday, July 4 will again be hearing the emergency alert signals from their local fire sirens.

County officials say they have taken this step to provide additional means to warn the surrounding communities of imminent danger and the need to tune to either radio, television or the Internet for information in the event of emergencies.

Sirens are tested the first Saturday of each month. Residents will hear a steady alert tone sound at 10 a.m. for approximately one minute.

Officials say that since the end of the Cold War, most serious threats to areas of the Eastern Shore have been weather related, and the emergency alert sirens have gone unused. However, emergency alert sirens continue to be employed in tornado-prone areas of the country where they are used to warn residents that a tornado has been spotted and to take cover.

Officials say the reinstitution of the emergency alert siren in Worcester County can be viewed as an additional form of early warning system to protect area residents in the event of a disaster.

Boy Dies After Father's Day Beating

WORCESTER, Mass. (June 28) -- A 7-year-old boy who authorities say was severely beaten by his dad on Father's Day has died in Massachusetts.

UMass Memorial Medical Center nursing supervisor Elaine Grady said Sunday that Nathaniel Turner was removed from a ventilator early Saturday morning.

Nathaniel was declared brain dead Tuesday after his father allegedly slammed the boy's head against a wall in his Worcester home so hard that it left a dent.

Leslie Schuler and his live-in girlfriend are charged with assault, but authorities have said they are now conducting a murder investigation. Their lawyers didn't immediately return phone calls seeking comment Sunday.

Results of an autopsy performed Saturday are expected in a few weeks.
Nathaniel had been living with his father since Memorial Day.

A Stunning Video Exposing Barack Hussein Obama!!

The reporter is quite LIBERAL and is (WAS) an Obama fan. AND, this information was actually given on (believe it or not) MSNBC, which is blatantly pro Obama.

I suspect the poor woman will not have a job there for long …. She is way too intelligent and honest. She is seeing through Obama’s carefully crafted rhetoric and recognizes the horrendous implications of “making his own laws which oppose our Constitution”.

For those of us who have strong concerns over Obama’s shredding the Constitution by appointing 26 Czars without any congressional screening or approval …. And having them report ONLY to him ….. This is further proof of his incredible audacity.

Everything Obama condemned Bush for while campaigning …. HE is now not only doing BUT HAS INCREASED. He increased our deficit, increased the federal government, increased borrowing from other countries, increased spending, increased Unions power, took over businesses, insulted our foreign friends like England, and now is attempting to take over our health care system all in a matter of months.

BUT wait …. Here is one more outrageous evidence of his arrogance and intention to ignore our Constitution. EVERY American needs to be aware of what he is doing. Now please watch what this LIBERAL reporter has to say.

TV Pitchman Billy Mays Found Dead

The popular product pusher Billy Mays has died.
His wife found Mays -- best known as the pitchman for OxiClean and star of many other TV infomercials -- unconscious in their Florida home, TMZ reports.

A source tells TMZ that the 50-year-old was at home last night and was "acting fine and normal ... he was talking business with his father-in-law."
"Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times," Deborah Mays says in a statement.
Police do not suspect any foul play.

Ex-Mayor in Georgia Arrested for Nudity

CLAYTON, Ga. (June 27) - Naked time got a little too public for a former Georgia mayor.

Authorities arrested Mark Musselwhite and charged him with public indecency last weekend after state Department of Natural Resources officers found him sitting nude at his Rabun County campsite.

Officers had received a complaint about a naked man walking along a nearby road earlier in the day, but the 43-year-old Musselwhite said he was not the same man. Musselwhite told the DNR officer he had been swimming in a nearby creek.

The ex-mayor was elected to the Gainesville City Council in 2000, where he served for six years, including a stint as mayor. He lost a bid for a state Senate seat in 2006.

Musselwhite could not be reached for comment by The Associated Press on Saturday.

We Now Have A Total Gangster Government

I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone with a half a brain can look at this massive assault on the American way of life, with the skin peeled away, and still concur with it.
This is exactly correct, we now have a "gangster government" and it's Chicago style of course.

Ancient Christian Quarry Unearthed

JERUSALEM (June 23) - Israeli archaeologists said on Sunday they had discovered the largest underground quarry in the Holy Land, dating back to the time of Jesus and containing Christian symbols etched into the walls.

The 4,000-square-yard cavern, buried about 10 yards beneath the desert near the ancient West Bank city of Jericho, was dug about 2,000 years ago and was in use for about half a millennium, archaeologist Adam Zertal said.

The cave's main hall, about three meters tall, is supported by some 20 stone pillars and has a variety of symbols etched into the walls, including crosses dating back to about AD 350 and Roman legionary emblems.

Zertal said his team from Haifa University first discovered the site three months ago while they were putting together a detailed archaeological map of the area.
"We saw a hole in the ground ... and went down and discovered this giant cavern, originally a quarry, built uniquely with hall after hall," Zertal told Reuters.
The team believes the stones were used in buildings and churches in the region, but Zertal said further research was necessary.

The site may eventually be turned into one of the largest underground tourist sites in the Holy Land, he said.

Island may be given to tribe

The owner of an island in the Pocomoke Sound said he wants to turn it over to an Indian tribe and "have it be a resource that brings people to Somerset County."

Carl Ifert, who owns the 65-acre Fair Island near Shelltown, asked County Commissioners on Tuesday for consent to give the land to the Delaware Tribe.

"We ask for your blessing," Ifert said. "We want it to be a joint venture."

Ifert said he was interested in giving the island to the Delaware Tribe because it has an Indian burial site. He also would be able to take a tax deduction because the tribe is a nonprofit organization.

Although several members of the Delaware Tribe visited Fair Island this week, they were still in preliminary talks with Ifert, Assistant Chief Wayne Stull told the commissioners. The Oklahoma-based tribe is not interested in building a casino, but it might look into a marina, destination hotel or upscale houses.

Any agreement with Ifert or plans to develop the land would first have to be approved by the tribal council, Stull said.

County Commissioners told Ifert he was free to give Fair Island to anyone he wanted, but warned environmental regulations and zoning restrictions could stall development plans.

"I don't think your problem's going to be with us -- it's with the state," Commissioner Rex Simpkins told him.

The entire island is zoned by the county as a conservation area and most of it is in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area, said County Administrator Sam Boston.

The island has no roads, public water and sewer or other services. It is separated from the mainland by a canal dug during the 1930s.

Ifert said he planned to hire a local attorney to handle any further matters related to turning the island over to the tribe.

Why Don't People Keep Their Word Nowadays?

I had a deal going down and I didn't have the money, I talked to the person and assured them I would have the money this week and asked if they would hold the item for me and they assured me they would.

Long story short, today I get the cash and am ready to buy and they said sorry it's sold.

Why not just say up front sorry, first come first serve?

They didn't have to say they would hold the item if they didn't intend too.

I guess I don't understand because I'm a man of my word, if I told someone I'd hold something, I would.

Oh well, everything works out for the best.

Cops Find 100 Pounds of Pot in Casket

DALLAS (June 26) -- A casket minus a cadaver yielded nearly 100 pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop in Dallas.
William Dale Crock of Cave City, Ark., was in jail Friday on a marijuana possession charge, plus traffic and seat belt violations.

Dallas police say Crock was arrested Wednesday when bundles of marijuana were discovered under the casket's cover and pillow.

Sr. Cpl. Kevin Janse said the van turned up during surveillance on a suspected drug house. Police stopped the van in Mesquite after noticing Crock not wearing a seat belt. Officers also said he allegedly ran a red light and made an improper lane change.

A drug-sniffing dog alerted officers to the casket in the van.
The online records of the Lew Sterrett Justice Center had no listing for an attorney for Crock.

Md. County Considers Naming Elementary School After Obama

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP)- The Prince George's County school board is considering a proposal to name an Upper Marlboro elementary school after President Barack Obama.

The board is scheduled to vote on the proposed name for the school under construction just miles from the White House on Thursday evening.

If the proposal is approved, Barack Obama Elementary School would be the first in Maryland named after the president.

However, it would not be the first school in the nation named after Obama. A New York school district voted to rename an elementary school after him shortly after his election victory.

Some members of the Prince George's school board say naming a school after Obama would inspire students, but board member Linda Thornton Thomas says she would rather name the school after a local figure.

Obama’s Double Speak on Iran

Our President has been glaringly light on the outrage over the events in Iran until the Presser yesterday. Words like “meddling” and “wait and see” have been the mantra from the administration until the polls showed his responses were not well received by the American public. Fortunately Major Garrett called the President out on his “too little too late” outrage at the press conference. Notice how Obama makes claims that his administration was firm from the outset - flat out lie from the golden tongued boy wonder…

Kudos to Major Garrett for asking the questions that the American People want the answers to and not the pablum of the drooling Obama-worshipping media.
Now we have a report from the Washington Times that OUR Supreme Leader was kissing the arse of the Iranian Supreme Leader PRIOR to Iran’s elections. Take the report with a grain of salt as it comes from “unnamed sources” but the Ayatollah did make mention of the letter from President Obama during his Sermon last week…

Prior to this month’s disputed presidential election in Iran, the Obama administration sent a letter to the country’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling for an improvement in relations, according to interviews and the leader himself.
Ayatollah Khamenei confirmed the letter toward the end of a lengthy sermon last week, in which he accused the United States of fomenting protests in his country in the aftermath of the disputed June 12 presidential election.

In a lengthy sermon Friday that reaffirmed the disputed re-election of Mr. Ahmadinejad, Ayatollah Khamenei made an oblique reference to a letter from the U.S. but embedded the reference in a diatribe against purported U.S. interference in Iranian affairs.
“On the one hand, they [the Obama administration] write a letter to us to express their respect for the Islamic Republic and for re-establishment of ties, and on the other hand they make these remarks”

If the Obama administration did send such a letter, then that explains their lukewarm outrage over the Iranian government’s actions during the protests. Don’t want to piss off the mullahs and lose any chance of a photo-op sitdown at some later date. IF the Obama administration did send such a letter, that makes them complicit in the deaths of the innocent protestors in Iran and is further proof of the inability of Obama to grasp the importance of taking a stand prior to poll results.

Obama likes to puff his chest and say “I AM the President of the United States”… Yes he is. BUT it’s time he acted like it instead of being a stooge for the Socialists and Muslims.

Doe! Deer Rescuer Threatened With Criminal Charges

After being rescued, Sunny the fawn faces euthanasia, while Sunny's rescuer is threatened with jail time.

Leslie Cain thought she was doing the right thing when she saved an orphaned baby deer she named Sunny.

Investigators from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, however, were of a different opinion.

Cain is under criminal investigation and faces 60 days in jail and a $500 fine after investigators learned that she had found Sunny in a subdivision in Ohio and took her across state lines to a farm in central Kentucky.

Say what? Turns out, it's against the law to transport orphaned deer for fear of spreading disease.

What's more, investigators have told Cain she needs to help them locate Sunny so the fawn can be euthanized.

So far, Cain says she wants to cooperate, but claims she wouldn't be able to find the farm she brought Sunny to because she brought the fawn there at night (why she can't simply ask the friend of a friend who originally gave her the information for the location is a mystery). The outcome of Sunny's saga remains to be seen. Sunny, if you're reading this – make a run for it!

Morgue Demands 'Bullet Fee' for Body HUH?

The family of a 19-year-old Iranian man killed during clashes between security forces and protesters in Tehran said morgue officials demanded they pay a $3,000 "bullet fee" before they were allowed to take his body, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.

The fee was assessed to pay for the bullet that killed Kaveh Alipour, relatives told the newspaper. But Alipour's father told officials that all of his property combined wouldn't even amount to $3,000. He argued his case and said that since he was also a veteran of the Iran-Iraq war, the fee should be waived.

Morgue officials agreed, but demanded the family bury Alipour outside of Tehran. His body was eventually taken to Rasht, where the family has relatives.
Alipour was shot in the head on Saturday when he was returning from acting class -- apparently an innocent bystander during the protests in Iran's capital city. He was to be married later this month.

"He was a very polite, shy young man," a neighbor said.

Civilians Run City-Wide Surveillance in Pennsylvania Town

Okay, Switched readers, here's a great debate. Lancaster, Pennsylvania is known as the home of Hershey's, the town where Peeps was invented, and the American city with the highest amount of surveillance per capita. Lancasterians have been subjected to a community-wide program that installs closed-circuit cameras on nearly every street, hosting more outdoor cameras than both San Francisco and Boston, reports LATimes.com. The Dutch Pennsylvanian city considers itself to be a prime candidate for such security measures, considering the amount of tourism its attractions receive.

The argument is that, while this is a small city, Lancaster was plagued with four murders last year, and the surveillance system helped solve one of them. Post-9/11, a local crime commission suggested that cameras might help make the city safer. In response, local businesspeople, municipal officials, and otherwise concerned citizens formed a non-governmental group called the Lancaster Community Safety Coalition.

With money raised from private donors and foundations, the recorders were installed and local citizens hired to keep watch. Although the coalition's executive director, Joseph Morales, is also a city councilman, no governmental organizations were directly involved in these decisions. By the same token, the coalition only employees civilians and does not answer to the city government.

Last year, the number of cameras hit 165, and surprisingly, the crime rate rose. Police explained that this was because surveillance more frequently caught lesser crimes -- infractions that often go unnoticed. The way the system works, explained Doug Winglewich, a camera operator with a degree in public administration, is that workers monitor 911 calls to assist in gathering license plates and silently watch city blocks in order to call in suspicious activity.

On the program's ethical boundaries, executive director Morales told the L.A. Times, "The divorce lawyer who wants video of a husband coming out of a bar with his mistress, we won't do it." At present, the coalition does not abide by any explicit ethical guidelines, although Morales says that he is currently drafting them.

While the program has led to a lot of valid arrests, it has also received sharp criticism for infringing on citizens' rights to privacy. Lancaster mayor and self-professed civil libertarian J. Richard Gray has put the coalition -- in his words -- "on a short leash," and Pennsylvanian American Civil Liberties Union lawyer Mary Catherine Roper calls it a "phenomenally bad idea."

Even the seemingly supportive police chief cited George Orwell and 'Big Brother' when he described the project to the Times.

As interconnectivity grows and technology progresses, cities are going to find themselves faced more frequently with dilemmas between privacy and watchdog methods.

If the surveillance is accessible and its results useful, should cities resort to monitoring its residents, even if that means infringing on crucial American rights? Or is the right to safety the most fundamental of all? The debate rages on.

Coast Guard Rescue - Onancock Creek

The Coast Guard rescued one person who was overdue in Onancock Creek Monday morning.

Rescued was Dan Kelley of Onancock.

Chris Spence, a friend of Kelley, contacted Coast Guard Sector Baltimore watchstanders via telephone, reporting one person overdue on a personal water craft at approximately 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

A 25-foot response boat crew from Coast Guard Station Crisfield, Md., arrived on scene and located Kelley at approximately 1 a.m. on Onancock Creek shore near Olney Farm Lane. The boat crew took Kelley to a pier near Mallard's at the Wharf in Onancock, where he was met by a family member.

According to Petty Officer 2nd Class Keith Newman, the officer of the day at Station Crisfield, “Kelley telling Spence that he was leaving and would be home in 10 minutes was key to finding the overdue boater. His friend notified the Coast Guard when Kelley didn't arrive as planned and was able to give his approximate location, which aided rescuers in finding him."

The Coast Guard urges mariners to file a detailed float plan with friends, family, or your local marina and have a marine-band radio on hand at all times. A detailed float plan should include the number of people
on your vessel, your intended destination and estimated time of return.

ACLU sues over limits on Muslim prayers in prison

Ah yes, The group that wants God out of everything now wants Allah in everything.
The ACLU is such a disgusting group and supported by our tax dollars. They go against everything the majority believes in.

INDIANAPOLIS -Two Muslim inmates held in a special unit at the federal prison in Terre Haute say they aren't allowed to pray in groups as often as their religion commands and have asked a federal judge to ease worship limits imposed by the Bureau of Prisons.

The prison in western Indiana houses several high-security inmates, including American-born Taliban soldier John Walker Lindh, who is serving a 20-year sentence for aiding Afghanistan's now-defunct Taliban government.

The June 16 lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana challenges limits on Islamic worship in the prison's restrictive Communications Management Unit, where about 30 of the 40 inmates are Muslim.

Muslims are required to pray five times a day, but the lawsuit, filed on behalf of inmates Enaam Arnaout and Randall T. Royer, says inmates in the CMU are allowed to pray as a group just one hour a week. The ACLU claims that violates a federal law barring the government from restricting religious activities without showing a compelling need.

The lawsuit echoes a 2007 complaint from convicted shoe bomber Richard Reid that he was denied access to group prayer at the Supermax federal prison in Florence, Colo.
The Indiana lawsuit is one of two the ACLU has filed in the past week concerning conditions in the CMU. Its other lawsuit claimed the unit was created in secrecy and keeps its mostly Muslim inmates in virtual isolation.

A Justice Department spokesman said last week that the government followed federal rules in creating the special unit in November 2006. Designed to house prisoners who require additional security, the unit closely monitors inmates' outside contacts.
Bureau of Prisons officials declined Tuesday comment on the prayer lawsuit.

Ken Falk, legal director of the ACLU of Indiana, questioned policies allowing prisoners out of their cells to watch television, play cards or engage in other group activities but limiting group worship to one hour on Fridays.

"That means four people can sit around the table playing cards or talking about the basketball game but they can't worship," Falk said.

Lindh's attorney George Harris confirmed Tuesday that Lindh, a convert to Islam, is held in the CMU. He declined to comment on the lawsuit or say whether Lindh has had problems practicing his religion at the prison.

The lawsuit asks the Bureau of Prisons to reinstate daily prayers that were held in a multipurpose room for several months after the CMU opened.

Louay Safi, director of leadership development with the Plainfield-based Islamic Society of North America, said Muslims try to pray in groups whenever possible.
"Muhammad said there is a much greater reward for people who pray in congregation than those who pray individually," he said.

Arnaout, 46, a Syrian-born U.S. citizen, is serving a 10-year sentence for racketeering after admitting in 2003 that he defrauded donors to his Benevolence International Foundation by diverting some of the money to Islamic military groups in Bosnia and Chechnya.

Royer, 36, a former spokesman for the Muslim American Society, is serving 20 years for his participation in what prosecutors called a "Virginia jihad network." The group used paintball games in 2000 and 2001 as military training in preparation for holy war against nations deemed hostile to Islam, prosecutors say.

Bomber Terry Nichols Sues Over Prison Food

Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols is asking for a court-appointed lawyer to help him with a lawsuit complaining about the food he gets in prison.

Nichols claims in his suit that the federal Supermax prison in Colorado is causing him to "sin against God" because he doesn't get enough whole grains and fresh food.

Nichols asked for the legal aid in a document addressed to a federal judge in Denver on Monday.

Amy Padden of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Denver did not immediately respond to a call seeking comment Tuesday about the suit Nichols filed in March.

Nichols is serving life for conspiracy and involuntary manslaughter in the 1995 federal building bombing that killed 168 people.

Timothy McVeigh was convicted of murder and executed.

(From a senior level Chrysler person)

This is supposedly a memo from a Chrysler engineer taken from a recent meeting with government controlling bodies of the auto maker.
I cannot verify that this is fact, but, never the less it sounds like what our government might actually say/do in such a situation.
So lets change the laws of physics, after all, democrats don't believe in gravity.

Monday morning I attended a breakfast
meeting where the speaker/guest was David E. Cole, Chairman Center for
Automotive Research (CAR and Professor at the Univ. of Michigan . You have
all likely heard CAR quoted, or referred to in the auto industry news
lately.

Mr. Cole, who is an engineer by training, told many stories of the difficulty of working with the folks that the Obama administration has sent to save the auto industry. There have been many meetings where a 30+ year experience automotive expert has to listen to a
newcomer to the industry, someone with zero manufacturing experience, zero
auto industry experience, zero business experience, zero finance experience,
and zero engineering experience, tell them how to run their business.

Mr Cole's favorite story is as follows:

There was a team of Obama people speaking to
Mr. Cole (Engineer, automotive experience 40+ years, Chairman of CAR). They
were explaining to Mr. Cole that the auto companies needed to make a car
that was electric and liquid natural gas (LNG) with enough combined fuel to
go 500 miles so we wouldn't "need" so many gas stations (A whole other
topic). They were quoting BTU's of LNG and battery life that they had looked
up on some website.

Mr. Cole explained that to do this you would
need a trunk FULL of batteries and a LNG tank at big as a car to make that
happen and that there were problems related to the laws of physics that
prevented them from...

The Obama person interrupted and said (and I
am quoting here) "These laws of physics? Who's rules are those, we need to
change that. (Some of the others wrote down the law name so they could look
it up) We have the congress and the administration. We can repeal that law,
amend it, or use an executive order to get rid of that problem. That's why
we are here, to fix these sort of issues"

DNA brings arrest in 1991 Rape of Pocomoke Woman :Cold Case:

A New York man has been charged with the rape of a Pocomoke City woman after a DNA sample taken from the crime scene 18 years ago matched his own.

The Worcester County Bureau of investigation has accused Leslie Maize, now 67, with first- and second-degree rape, assault with the intent to rape and first-degree burglary in the 1991 crime. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

According to investigators, early in the morning of May 10, 1991, Maize allegedly broke into a Pocomoke City apartment and sexually assaulted the woman who lived there alone. He was armed at the time.

The case went cold until recently when evidence taken from the scene was submitted to the National DNA Index System, which linked Maize to the incident.

"It's always good to close a case like that even if it takes time," said Pocomoke City Mayor Michael McDermott. "Sometimes justice is a little slow, but it does work out in the end."

McDermott, who is also a lieutenant in the Worcester County Sheriff's Office, said the DNA was likely taken from bodily fluids found on a garment or cloth. While DNA matching wasn't available at the time of the crime, McDermott said "good policing" meant evidence was well-preserved.

"The fact that they collected the DNA back then and were able to hold on to it is incredible," he said. "I don't think anybody had any idea that back then that someday there might be a DNA database that matches things up like this."

Despite the positive match, it may be some time until the case goes to trial in Worcester County. Maize is currently four years into a 6- to 12-year prison sentence at the Gowanda Correctional Facility in upstate New York.

According to Linda Foglia, a spokeswoman for the New York State Department of Correctional Services, in February 2005, Maize pleaded guilty to the first-degree rape of a 45-year-old Long Island woman in 1993. His sentence, which includes sex offender counseling and treatment for drug use, ends in September 2014. If granted parole, Maize could be out in September 2010. While this is his only rape charge in New York, Foglia said there could be more.

"According to authorities, there were three other positive DNA matches to rapes that Maize is believed to have committed in New York City in the early 1990s," she said. He was never prosecuted for these cases because "there was a statute of limitations that precluded filing criminal charges in those cases."

This is the fourth sentence Maize has served in a New York correctional facility, according to state records. He spent two years in the late 1970s incarcerated on burglary and violating bail charges. In 1980, about a year after being released from prison the first time, he was sentenced to five years for breaking into a residence.

In 1994, Maize was convicted of second-degree assault and weapons possession after attacking a police officer, hitting him with a loaded gun. He was released in September 1999, but returned to jail in August 2001 for violating parole.

Once his current sentence is complete, Maize will be extradited to Worcester County to face charges. If found guilty of first-degree rape, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Bill would give support to GM, Chrysler franchises

For 31 years, the Frostrom family sold Jeeps at their dealership in Pocomoke City.
Not anymore.

On May 14, Chrysler notified the Frostroms that their franchise agreement would be terminated, as the automaker went through bankruptcy proceedings. The local dealership had three weeks to sell off 40 new Jeeps and was forced to eat the cost of parts and inventory it suddenly had little use for, said Christy Frostrom.

"They're taking away your stability as if they want you to close," she said, adding that the business now survives on sales from its lone Subaru franchise.

Frostrom joined the owners of several other local car dealers Monday in a Salisbury news conference orchestrated to drum up support for a bill introduced by U.S. Rep. Frank M. Kratovil Jr. on June 8.

House Resolution 2743 would require Chrysler and General Motors to honor franchise agreements with dealers that bankruptcy rules allow them to vacate. The legislation would restore dealers' rights to levels under state law -- which dealers support, for they say they bear all the cost and risk associated with running their businesses.

"It's putting the pressure on GM and Chrysler to do the right thing; it's simply a matter of fairness," Kratovil, a Democrat, told 25 people -- a group that included Salisbury's mayor and Wicomico County's executive -- that had gathered in the showroom of Courtesy of Salisbury, a dealership that sells Cadillac and Chevrolet models.

So far, 100 Democrats and 62 Republicans have signed on to support the bill, Kratovil said, and a version of the bill was recently introduced in the Senate.

GM and Chrysler have taken different approaches with ending their franchise agreements. Each argue that, as sales of new vehicles have collapsed, they can't afford to spread their supplies of cars and trucks to so many dealers.

GM told 1,100 dealers their franchises won't be renewed when they expire in October 2010. Chrysler, however, nullified 789 of its contracts in one fell swoop.

"I think I have seen more change in the auto business in the past 45 days than in the past 39 years," said Ray Nordstrom, owner of Courtesy.

GM notified Nordstrom they won't renew his franchise come 2010, but Nordstrom immediately appealed the decision. According to Kratovil's estimate, about 60 dealers have successfully appealed GM decisions.

"I had a choice of laying down and potentially losing 45 jobs here, or trying to fight," Nordstrom said.

Even though Midway GM of Pocomoke City will keep its franchise, it will lose its rights to sell Cadillacs under GM's re-structuring plan, said Sharon Worth, an executive administrator.

"There won't be a Caddy dealer from Norfolk to Wilmington. Who is going to buy a Caddy now?" Worth said.

Midway GM -- if it loses the rights to sell Cadillacs -- will only be licensed to sell Buicks, she said. Years ago it sold five brands, she said.

In Maryland, 17 Chrysler dealers have had their franchises terminated and 26 GM dealers were put on notice, said Peter Kitzmiller, president of the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association in Annapolis.

He said Kratovil's bill could face opposition because he believes an auto task force commissioned by the president supports GM and Chrysler's restructuring plan.

Additionally, Kratovil admitted the nature of bankruptcy proceedings allows a company to take the approach of the auto makers.

Yet, it still seemed wrong to Sandy Fitzgerald, a representative from Pohanka Automobile Group of Salisbury.

"How is this legal? How is it American? It doesn't even make sense," Fitzgerald said.

Now without the ability to sell Jeeps, the Frostrom business -- which employs 22 -- must survive on sales from its Subaru franchise. It's a tough formula given the downturn in sales at dealerships across the USA.

"You start off with all the confidence that you're going to fight and get through this, but every day there's a new problem," Christy Frostrom said.

Now We Finally Know The Truth

Dr. Timothy McCarthy while receiving a medical award for creativity, reported his findings to the Fellows of plastic surgery, concluding with this case study: “Several years ago a woman was high on cocaine and marijuana and she rode a horse head-on into a train traveling 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was the woman’s hair and the horse’s ass. I was able to put them together and now she’s Speaker of the House
Now you know the rest of the story.

Our Judeo-Christian Nation

We need more congressmen with guts like this one! It’s way past time for them to take stands on behalf of our great nation!
This is a great speech… I don’t think our Founding Fathers ever meant to take God out of the schools or government… I think their intent was to get the government out of our churches!……

Bill Ayers Influence on Obama Goes Back to Grade School

More that the MSM will never report.

To become Lord of the Moonbats, you have to get off to an early start. The offspring of a hippy and an African socialist, Obama was steeped in moonbattery from his conception. Now we learn that his connection with unrepentant communist terrorist Bill Ayers goes back to age 11:

While Obama’s membership as an adult in the controversial Trinity United
Church of Christ has received widespread media attention, almost nothing has
been reported about his Sunday school attendance at First Unitarian, a far-left
activist church that may have helped provide the president’s initial political
education.

First Unitarian, a member of the Unitarian Universalist denomination, served
as a sanctuary for draft dodgers and was strongly tied to the Students for a
Democratic Society, or SDS, during the time Weatherman radical Bill Ayers was a
leader in that organization. The Weathermen was an offshoot of the SDS.

As you’ll recall, Obama declared that Ayers’ political mentorship wasn’t relevant, since Ayers committed his terrorist acts when BHO was a child, before realizing that he could inflict more damage on the country by subverting the education establishment — and by nurturing the political career of a certain radical leftist who is currently steering us toward economic ruin. But even as a little boy, the Moonbat Messiah’s worldview was molded by Ayers and his ilk…..via

How's This For Art

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves. .....Abraham Lincoln
