30 years ago the Pocomoke Jaycees wanted to hold a turkey shoot. The area chosen required a variance from the Zoning Appeals Board and one of the board members was Bootsie Spinak. She was aghast that fine young men would want to shoot live turkeys just for fun. Whitey Campbell had to explain to her that a turkey shoot was when people shot at targets and and that frozen turkeys were the prizes.
