Election Tuesday - Get Out And VOTE!

Voters will be heading to the polls today in Accomack and Northampton County to vote in a wide number of positions in their County and State Government.

Voter's of both Counties will decide who their next Supervisor will be. While six of Accomack County's districts are unopposed, districts 4, 7 and 9 are. Incumbent Sandra Mears of District 4 is facing challenger Kay Lewis. In District 7, Incumbent Laura Belle Gordy will face opponent Emory Hurst. District 9 will see current Supervisor C. Reneta Major and challenger Wesley Edwards.


Todd Godwin, Walter Marks and David Rogers are set to square off in the race for Accomack County Sheriff. Treasurer Dana Bundick will face a challenge from Greg Duncan.


In a hotly contested Senate Race, incumbent Ralph Northam will face challenger Ben Loyola.


There will also be special town council races in Parksley and Onley.


Commissioner of Revenue Leslie Savage, Commonwealth's Attorney Gary Agar and Delegate Lynwood Lewis are running unopposed.


Northampton County voters will have two Board of Supervisor's seats up for grabs. In District 4, Rick Hubbard will be looking to win while Yvonne Bagwell has launched a write in campaign.

District 5 Incumbent Larry Trala is being challenged by Betsy Mapp.


For Northampton County Treasurer, current Treasurer Cynthia Bradford and Charles Renner will square off. Bradford was appointed to finish the term of the last elected Treasurer Ilva James.


Commonwealth's Attorney Bruce Jones, Sheriff David Doughty and Commissioner of Revenue Anne Sayers are all running unopposed.


Polling locations open at 6:00 AM and will remain open until 7:00 PM.
