POCOMOKE CITY — Police say an investigation into a reported sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man.Charles D. Reynolds, 18, of the 700 block of Second Street in Pocomoke City has been charged with second-degree rape and third-degree sex offense, according to court records and police. He allegedly committed the offenses on June 10; a police news release said he confessed to the crimes in a June 21 interview. A week earlier, police said, they interviewed the victim of the assault.
Reynolds was initially held on $75,000 bond. Court records show bond was lowered to $25,000 after a bond review hearing on June 23, and that Reynolds was subsequently released on bond.
A preliminary hearing in District Court is set for July 19.
