Local Virginia Youth Sports Activity Schedules

Swim lessons offered at Captain's Cove
Captain's Cove Golf and Yacht Club will offer swim lessons for ages 4-15 at its Town Center Pool.

Registration and a swim test will be conducted on June 19 from 2 to 5 p.m.

The class dates are June 22-26 from beginners and June 29 to July 3 for advanced. Swim times are 4:45 to 5:45 p.m.for ages 4-8 and 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. for ages 9-15.

Registration open for youth soccer
CHINCOTEAGUE -- Youth Fall soccer registration is open through Aug. 7.

Girls and boys, ages 4-to-13 are welcome to enroll.

Games are played every Saturday from September to November at the Chincoteague High School fields.

There are two ways to register. Pick up a player form at either H&H Pharmacy location or visit the youth soccer league at www.AYSO1184.org.

Entries open for youth football
ACCOMAC -- The Accomack County Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for its Youth Football League. Eligible ages are 7-10 and 11-13.

Practice will begin in August and games will start in September.

Youth football clinic lined up
ONLEY -- The Accomack County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a youth football clinic that will be conducted by T.J. and Todd Washington, Coach Tony Washington, and others beginning Friday, June 26, with registration at the Parks and Recreation office and a full-day clinic on Saturday, June 27.

The clinic will conclude on Sunday, June 28, with a rap up session and picnic for the presenters, participants and their family. This clinic will be held on the grounds of the Nandua High School.

Those interested can register early at the Parks and Recreation office, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Youth ages 6 and up are eligible to participate. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

The registration fee is $20 for youth enrolled in the ACPR Youth Football League, and $25 for youth not enrolled in the youth football league.

The first 50 youth that register will receive a special gift package.
